From Sackcloth to Sacks of Seed

04.01.20

When it seems as though your provision has withered and the brook has dried up, it’s time to intercede. I saw the church rising up in sackcloth and ash in the midst of great famine, like in biblical days. Famine, in those times, were typically a result of no rain. Rain represents the people receiving the voice of the Lord and how our obedience to His voice always produces a Harvest. The people of God cried out with travail and weeping. After a time of mourning and repentance, I saw the Lord swoop down and grab hold of the sackcloths that had been soaked in their tears and intercession. He began answering the cries of their hearts by filling the sack with seeds! God is transforming our sackcloth of grief into sacks for grain! The coming harvest of souls is contingent upon the humbling of our hearts!

“But as for me, when they were sick, My clothing was sackcloth; I humbled myself with fasting; And my prayer would return to my own heart. I paced about as though he were my friend or brother; I bowed down heavily, as one who mourns for his mother.” Psalm 35:13-14 (TPT)

For more insight check out Joel 1. It’s exactly what is happening right now:

"Consecrate a fast,Proclaim a solemn assembly,Gather the elders And all the inhabitants of the land To the house of the Lord your God, And cry out to the Lord[in penitent pleadings]." Joel 1:14 AMP
