A Time for Focus

To understand our identity as creations, we must first focus our attention on understanding the nature of our Creator. His intention and design are the only things that can define our purpose. The word “focus” in the form of a noun means, “the center of interest or activity, the state or quality of having or producing a clear visual definition.” The verb means, “to adapt to the prevailing level of light and become able to see clearly or to pay particular attention to.” As christians, our focal point can never be ourselves. The focus of our lives is to come into intimate knowledge of our Creator through Jesus, so that we can receive His love, and love Him in return. If we do not know God’s perfect nature we will always view His way as cruel, but when we come to understand and revere His definition of good and evil from the intentions of love, we then grow to embrace His way as boundary line for our own safety and benefit. As we pay close attention to who He is, suddenly, what we were created for becomes clear. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 4:18, “we don’t focus our attention on what is seen but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but the unseen realm is eternal.” (TPT). We were created for eternity so our focus must be on that with is eternal!
